Stewart Island

This island with an area of 1,746 square kilometres is the third-largest island of New Zealand. The island is like heaven for bird watchers. Because of the absence of natural predators birds have been able to form huge colonies including some special species.

Lake Tekapo

Lake Tekapo covers an area of 83 square kilometres and is at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level. Next to the lake there is the very photogenic church, Church of the Good Shepherd, which was the first church built in the Mackenzie Basin.

Marlborough Sounds

There’s no point going to the South Islands if you’re not spending a day or two in Marlborough Sounds. The sea-drowned valleys found in New Zealand’s north end in Picton are some of the most beautiful you’ll see in the island. Swim among friendly jellyfish, trek Queen Charlotte track or simply savour the majestic natural environment.

Waimangu Volcanic Valley

There are times when it’s not enough that a certain destination is beautiful. In New Zealand, the Waimangu Volcanic Valley doesn’t only provide stunning clouds of geothermal steams from the Inferno Crater. There are also great activities like hikes, walks, cruises or a combination of all within the relaxing area of Lake Rotomahana.
