Safe Driving In New Zealand

When driving in New Zealand, you must always drive on the left hand side of the road, obey all traffic signals and signage, and wear a seatbelt whilst in a vehicle. The driver must have their licence with them at all times when driving. It is recommended that familiarise yourself with the New Zealand road rules before driving in New Zealand to ensure you have a safe holiday. Always allow extra time to get to your next destination and be sure to stop every 2 hours to take a break.

Apollo takes the safety of our guests and the public very seriously. Please watch the safe driving video for your relevant hire campervan prior to commencing your road trip with us. The videos can also be viewed on our ApolloConnect app, which is free to download from the App Store or Google Play.

We recommend you take the Tourist Driving Quiz to ensure your own safety.

*Please note you will be charged for any traffic infringement, speeding or parking fines or road toll fines that you incur.
