Moeraki Boulders

These boulders are extremely big and a scattered around on Koekohe Beach. A Maori legend says that the boulders are remains of eel baskets that washed ashore from the wreck of an Arai-te-uru, which is a large sailing canoe.

Fox Glacier

Te Moeka o Tuawe, Fox Glacier’s name in Maori; is a long glacier and is the largest commercially guided one in New Zealand. The Fox Glacier spells adventure in the West Coast with exciting helicopter flights, learning-filled valley guided walks, heli-treks and alpine trekkings and heli ice climbing adventures. Everything may be thrilling but everything is safe because of the training the guides undergo.

Hanmer Springs

Feel the heat seeping through your skin; a full cleanse and rewarding relaxation awaiting. The Hanmer Springs is best known for its thermal pools, lush forests and stunningly picturesque alpine vistas; a perfect way to relax. If it’s adventure you want though, opportunities here include forest hiking, mountain biking, trekking and bungee jumping or go to Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa hydroslides.

Abel Tasman National Park

It may be the smallest national park but that does not make it any less interesting. Granite and marble formations dominating the headlands, Te Pukatea Bay has a perfect golden beach and native wild life is all around.

Rotorua

This city is famous for its geothermal activity. It has Geysers, hot thermal springs, the Buried Village (Te Wairoa) and hot mud pools. Underneath the city there is the Roturua caldera, the source for all the geothermal activity around the city.
