Retirement Dream
To replicate our honeymoon of 41years down the south island when we hired a vehicle & toured around the fiords of Milford & Queenstown, Whanaka,& over to Dunedin. The whole holiday of two weeks of our holiday has always been a talking point of reminiscing, even today of how one day we will return to experience the trip of a life time for Charmaine(my wife) & I.

RWC 2011
Four weeks in Campy, travelling around New Zealand following a rather disappointing England Rugby team, when I say travelling, I mean mainly South Island due to the fact that England had three matches at the new Otago Stadium in Dunedin.
We definitely made the most of the time between matches, whether it was surviving a night at Middle March (private joke between me and Mrs B) or the fast and furious Queenstown. All done in our 6 berth campervan, which became...

Intrepid journey top of the south
Our 3 weeks winter adventure around the top of NZs south island left us with many memories. The walks along beautiful beaches, the peacefulness of isolation, nature at its best, driving on amazing roads, the friendliness of strangers. I could write a book but one or two memories stand out: Not finding a camp before dark on the wild west coast, pulling into a roadside verge to sleep with the waves sounding so close, certain we'd be washed out to...

West to East and return
We began our Nullabor crossing adventure in July 2011 when we left Perth in the luxury Apollo Deluxe 6 berth motor home bound for the beautiful state of Victoria. This was going to be a test for our family, as it was the first long distance trip with our four children under the age of 10. The countryside that was forever changing, especially the treeless plain that had a beauty of its own, it was very unique.
The driving was...

New Zealand in Austral Summer
It was an initiatory journey in New Zealand. A road movie; my partner was not still my wife and our respective children did not really know. In five in a van of six places we found our marks and went out of this journey as a real family. An Apollo family, which thanks to the comfort and to the arrangements of the van was able to create these links which unite us at the moment. Thanks to you. We shall...

Our home away from Home
Warning... totally LONG but awesome story!! In 2010, my husband Craig and I knew we wanted to go on a New Zealand family holiday! But with a VERY active 18month old boy, we didnt like the idea of staying in hotels, packing and unpacking our belongings, having Axl sleep in a new bed each night and using public transport to get around. We wanted to see as much as possible and still have the ability to stick to Axls day routine!...

Rakaia, this side of heaven
We love New Zealand, we love the South Island, we love Canterbury, and we love the Rakaia Gorge campground! It's a gem, hidden along a road outside of Methven. The entrance is near a sharp bend and just seconds away from the Rakaia high bridge.
We love this campground because it is true blue New Zealand for two main reasons. First, an honesty box near the middle of the site asks for the nominal fee to stay there. The trusty...

When seven days wasn't enough
Recently my family enjoyed a wonderful holiday discovering some of the wonders of the north island of New Zealand in a 6 birth Apollo motorhome. The experience was so fantastic that we were already planning our next trip during the flight back to Australia. This trip also rekindled childhood memories of travelling with mum, dad and my brother to exciting destinations in a campervan in England, which I wanted my children to experience in a similar holiday. New Zealand ended...

To catch a trout
With fishing rods packed, we set out on the road to Taupo. Usually, the drive takes no longer than 3 hours during the morning. After a short stop at Whitecliffs Brewery for some 'supplies', we were on the road again. Arriving in Taupo, we drove to our fishing location (a secret place). Finding our friends at home, we were invited to lunch and then an early evening meal in anticipation of some evening fishing.
In the water, the trout were sounding...
